Praying mantis stopped eating?

Why is your mantis not eating?

There are many different reasons why mantids will stop feeding, however, this will just cover the most common reasons.

One of the most common reasons is the lack of water. Many tropical species such as the Phylocrania Paradoxa (Ghost Mantis) and Deroplatys Sp. (Dead Leaf Mantis) need high humidity. This can be stimulated by regular spraying, and when sprayed, you will see the mantis drink the droplets of water around the enclosure. However, if the mantis has not been recently sprayed, and it dehydrated, it will loose its appetite, and refuse food. So to keep a healthy appetite, make sure the humidity is adequate to the species you are keeping.

Another reason will be due to fact that the mantis is about to shed. Before the shedding of skin, the mantis will sit in one position for a day or two, usually upside down. In this time, it will refuse any food offered, until after it has shed its skin.

my mantis stopped eating like 4 days ago and is upside down under a branch that I have in her vivarium. I have misted the area 2 times a day because I think she’s about to shed her skin but I have been waiting for 3 days now. She’s getting skinnier everyday more and more. But she has not shed her skin off and I am getting worried now. So its not a humidity problem. But she has not wanted to shed and eat. Can anyone tell me why or what you think she will do ?
