Acanthops sp (Peru) ootheca hatching
I have acquired some ootheca of Acanthops sp (I’m not 100% sure of the exact species) from Peru, which were from mated females, from wild caught ootheca. One of them hatched in the post and hatched around 35, and a second hatched today (1 day later) with around 18 nymphs.
It’s strange how these hatch and leave virtually no holes or trace of hatching in the ootheca, as if it were still sealed.
I still have 4 ootheca left to hatch, so hopefully these will yield some more healthy hatches.

My Acanthops nymphs are growing nicely, and I’ve grown on 39 to L3, with a very low mortality rate. Here’s a few snaps of the little beasts:
