Origin: The skeleton tarantula (Ephebopus murinus) originates from the forests of Guyana and Northern Brazil. They come from low habitats, mainly on the forest floors.

Size: As adult, these the Skeleton Tarantula reaches around 4.5 inches (leg to leg). Some specimens, usually females, can reach up to 6 inches.

Behaviour: These have a slightly more agressive behaviour than others in the family,

and have the tendancy to flick hairs flick hairs in defense. They will also rear up in another act of defense.

Enclosure and feeding:

An ideal enclosure should consist of a 5 gallon tank with about 5 inches of substrate for digging. This should be watered twice a week, and also a bowl of water should be provided. The optimum temperature for the enclosure would be around 27c. They will tackle most insects, including crickets, locusts, roaches and many other livefood available in your local pet shop. Adults should be fed 4-5 crickets per week.
