Hi guys
Just noticed that on the gallery page Eurycantha Calcarata is put down as "Giant Thorny".
Isn't this Trachyaretaon brueckneri? And EC is "Giant Spiny?"
Yep, that's true! Got a link to this?
(Oh I hate common names :p)

Common names are absolutely rubbish when it comes to talking about phasmids - it's better to stick to the latin names.
I agree. But unfortunately so many people only go by common names, so it's helpful for visitors when both are displayed.

No problem - I understand people use both, it's just the latin name rarely changes, whereas the common ones seem to change on a whim! :)

Common names are a bit unimaginitive, "giant spiny" is used for about 50 or so sp :D
