Went for a search last night and found this amazing creature. Anyone got any idea what it is? Found in South East Queensland Australia in rainforest.

I'd say it's a Candovia sp. I can't find so much about the species, just colourless old type specimens.

[Edit] you beat me to it Daniel :)

Found a female last night, here she is. Not quite as attractive as the male but at least i can now get some eggs to reproduce the species.

Wow, I've never seen a picture of a female before. What do they feed on?

the female was feeding on the tree pictured in the background. I have not yet identified what it is. The male i found on a bush pepper (Tasmannia species) which it also eats.

just a quick update, the female is happily feeding off some local pepper bush (Tasmannia species) and is producing eggs. About ten so far. I saw her mate twice with the male also. Hopefully i can start a captive population of the species.
