View Full Version : Didymocorypha lanceolata care
Hi,
I was planning on getting some ooths of the Didymocorypha lanceolata mantis and I can't find any info on it:rolleyes:, it's a pretty rare one. So I know nothing about it only that it is freaking small!
Anything would be appreciated!:D!

well, i am on a forum called: Invertebrate - Focus :: Index (www.invertebrate-focus.be)
somebody there has this species, and i think that he might want to give you some info in English (it`s a dutch/belgium forum so..) His forumname is Pelle
He has a lot of nice species ;)
Good luck!
Greetings martijn
Thanks very much, i'll have a look:)
Can't say I know anything about this species at all...
I'm not getting it anymore, It's far to small and it's not very aggressive so feeding is to difficult. I'm saving for Idolomantis diabolica instead, i've actually ordered a pair:D
Idolomantis are cute. Make sure you have plenty of flying food available - as they eat a LOT!
I'm going to have to buy maggots of the internet, no one near me sells them anymore:(
Do you keep any idolos Ian? theyr'e my fav species:D

Didn`t kenneth keeped them?
I think he did Martijn yea.
I've kept them before Dave. Hatched out some wild caught ootheca from Tanzania, grew them onto L6 or so, then sold them on.
I can get bait at my local tackle shop and hatch it on, so it's not to bad. But online will be fine.
You don't know anybody who has any for sale, do ya Ian?

That`s to bad :(
At hte moment, I wouls have more in a months time, it's just my luck:rolleyes:but I have found someone who's selling them, they are just a bit too expensive for me at the moment. I've got 5 Hymenopus coronatus ariiving this week so i'll concentrate on them for a while:D
No, I haven't seen any recent Dave I'm afraid. You tried asking on mantidforum?
Yeah, I have a pair reserved (once they can be sexed):D £30 each which I thought was maybe £5 more than what I would charge, but I can't pass up the opportunity:)
£30 not cheap - but I guess if that's your only choice, then go for it ;)
It's not my only choice now;) i'm waiting for a friends ooths to hatch:D
Ah great! WIll dave you a bit'o dollar there...
Yeah i'm a sly one:) i'm also going to get some Theopompa servillei of him, but that won't be for a while yet:( his Idolomantis ooth should be hatching within a couple of weeks, can't wait:)
Sounds good - was the Idolo ooth CB or WC?
CB, he's got 4 of them, they are his first batch so he's not sure about them.
Ah wicked. Would be nice to see some CB hatches, Alan (ellroy) managed to rear some nymphs, and then breed them on, but never had any luck hatching the ooths.
Best of luck to whoever's giving it a go!
